Hardware-based RAID, hot-swappable 7200-RPM SATA II drives, and Dual-Core Intel® Xeon® processor technology help the Iomega StorCenter Pro NAS 450r Series achieve excellent performance and energy efficiency.
Intel’s Dual-Core Intel Xeon processor technology offers up to 3 times the performance of previous-generation single-core Xeon processors while operating within a 65 watt envelope, significantly improving energy efficiency and performance per watt.
Four hot-swappable 7200-RPM SATA II drives combine with hardware-based RAID 0 (Striping), 1 (Mirroring), or 5 (Striping with Parity), offering flexible options in performance and data protection. RAID security minimizes downtime and provides data retrieval and availability should a drive fail.
Other hardware features on the new NAS 450r include dual Gigabit Ethernet connections, ECC memory, and an Ultra 320 SCSI (VHDC1) connection for high-speed archival backup.
