"Tyrion, I was afraid of the same thing when I was designing Sorapot. In reality, when the tube is full of boiling liquid, the handle section gets warmer than room temperature, but never too warm to grasp. It actually stays cooler than the handles from many standard teapots. I think this is because the metal gets thicker as it moves away from the tube, and the distance is simply too far for the heat to travel."

"Thanks for your comments! I'm building the final prototype now, and I have the same question as Ruthers. It should work according to the engineering, but there's no way to know for sure until I've actually built one and made my first pot of tea. I'll be sure to post pictures here when it's ready."
