Differences between HD1 and HD100
Image quality - according to JVC the HD100 features a contrast ratio that is double of the HD1, while avoiding the use of an auto-iris that many other manufacturers employ. The HD100 also adds the ability to handle 2.35:1 content natively which obviates the need for an outboard processor that the HD1 requires.
Connectivity - the HD100 contains the most recent HDMI 1.3 specification while the HD1 uses the previous HDMI 1.2 spec.
Powered lens - the lens on the HD100 can be shifted from the remote while the HD1 is a manual lens that needs to be shifted on the projector itself.
