The JVC KD-HDR20 is an in-dash car-audio receiver that features a built-in MOSFET amplifier with a 200w max power output. The first of six JVC KD A/V head units, the JVC KD-HDR20 features a built-in HD Radio tuner with Multi-cast capability that delivers enhanced AM/FM sound quality described as being equivalent to listening directly from a CD. In addition, the KD-HDR20 comes equipped with a CD player that supports traditional CDs, CD-Rs, and CD-RWs, not to mention those outfitted with MP3 & WMA music files. The KD-HDR20 also boasts a handy front-panel auxiliary input that lets one connect the receiver to a plug-and-play satellite radio, a portable MP3 player, a Bluetooth adapter, or a CD changer. Plus, the KD-HDR20 sports a 7-band iEQ, a wireless remote, a detachable face, a subwoofer control, a 24-bit digital-to-analog converter, and 4-channel preamp outputs. The JVC KD-HDR20 retails for $139.95 and comes with a 1 year limited warranty. Additional service plans are available for a fee.

MSRP $130.00
Released January, 2009
Pros
- easily accessible USB and aux inputs
- affordable price
- iPod compatible
Cons
- Back light is too bright and has no dimmer function other than for the display.
- accessories cost more than the unit itself
- Putting mp4 files on a USB drive doesn't work. If you want to play files off your USB drive, they'll have to be MP3 or WMA. Apparently, only an iPod can handle Apple's mp4 file format.
