All the image processing is done through what JVC calls the Genessa chip. Image improvements include three different kinds of noise reduction, color enhancement, and the already mentioned upconversion. Nine different aspect ratios are available including a native option that outputs the raw signal, alongside four picture modes that have default settings for color, brightness, and sharpness.
JVC also touts the new universal remote that comes with the set. Being a universal remote, it can control a variety of home theater devices from a range of manufacturers, and is not limited to JVC equipment.
