kbahjat: One approach that helped our lab was installing a VNC on the workstation and allowing users to connect remotely to initiate the startup routine. It's free and simple to configure, and it lets the users start the instrument without having to physically come to the lab. Jan 7, 11
kbahjat: Could you elaborate on the biocontainment options? When the Aria I was released they talked about a containment hood that fit around the top part of the instrument, but I'm unaware if that ever materialized. porcelli: The standard approach to biocontainment is to place the entire sorter within the Baker BioProtect II biosafety cabinet, which is a rather large essentially floor to ceiling cabinet. This approach has been used in many centers, and it seems to work well. I am not aware of any other currently validated approach for biocontainment of the FACS Aria. Jan 3, 11
