The Kenmore 1388 dishwasher uses the Ultra Wash HE System which is promoted as being responsible for up to 41% water and 34% energy savings in comparison to average dishwashers. This makes it an ENERGY STAR qualified device which means it uses less water and less electricity than normal washers, a cost of $25-$33 dollars a year to operate. It has QuietGuard insulation which minimizes the dishwasher noise down to 52dBA - great for people looking for a little less noise from their appliances. It also boasts a steam sanitize option that kills most bacteria, a great feature for those worried that soap and water aren't enough. The Kenmore 1388 includes the Tall Tub design which allows it to accommodate larger dishware, such as pots, tall platters, over-sized dinner plates and other hard to wash items. It uses a SmartWash Cycle to customize the energy, time and water for each individual load, making the 1388 an eco-friendlier dishwasher.
