The Kenmore 4708 is an expensive, mid-grade front-load washing machine. The Kenmore 4708 washing machine can handle a 4.0 cu foot load size. The biggest feature of the 4708 model is the Energy Star qualification, Eco friendly certification, and Energy Guide functions; Kenmore claims this allows users to save up to 71% more energy and 71% more water when compared to a conventional top load washer (manufacturer before 2004). The Kenmore 4708 also includes patented Catalyst cleaning action technology which allows fabrics and clothing to receive an enhanced cleaning; a special patented SkinCare Rinse II option allows users with sensitive skin to ensure the fabrics and clothing are rinsed more efficiently. The Kenmore 4708 device also features a 1300 RPM max spin speed which lessens the overall total drying time of washed fabrics; Kenmore claims the speed enables the device to be "extremely efficient". The 4708 machine includes additional features such as a stainless steel wash basket, a steel body design adorned with a professional white painted finish and a porcelain outlined lid, full audio-visual setting controls which are displayed via a small front panel LCD screen, 6 separate water temperatures, 8 different wash and rinse cycles, a timed dispenser that can handle detergent, bleach and fabric softener, permanent press and silk/ultra-delicate fabric support, and special sound signals and status lights at end of cycle and load times.
