Kenwood KDC-MP245
$85.00
Released January, 2010
The Pros:Interface is easy to use while driving. Easy to reach specialty settings such as subwoofer output levels. Generates high quality clear signal, maximizes the OEM speaker output.
The Cons:Blue color on the display seems overly bright at night. Background to the display seems purple during the day.
The KDC-MP245 is a lower-end car audio receiver from Kenwood. It lacks USB connectivity, featuring only an AUX input for portable media devices, in addition to an AM/FM tuner and a CD player which supports MP3 and WMA audio files.

It is a minor step up from the KDC-MP145, with the same media options and one-line display, but coming with a standard remote control. It also adds a second 2V preamp output. Like the entry-level model, it outputs up to 50 W per channel, or 200 W in total. The KDC-MP345U represents a more significant upgrade, with an added USB port enabling certain iPod/iPhone functionality.
