Pullman Deluxe Tamper

Precision tamper

The Pullman Deluxe Tamper is a coffee tamper designed and manufactured by Greg Pullman from Australia. It consists of a stainless steel base connected to a hand-turned wooden handle. A range of different timbers are available for the handle.

Pullman Tampers are an artisan product as opposed to a mass-produced one. Rather than just coming in off-the-shelf sizes, the bases are machined to the size required for the user's coffee filter basket whenever possible which ensures a very good fit. They are one of the few tampers which provide rings around the side of the base to help keep the tamper level and they are perhaps the only one which provide an oiled wooden handle rather than a varnished handle, which is a bonus in a physically hostile environment as there's no varnish to chip or crack through impact. Each tamper base is measured prior to shipment and gets its own serial number.

The Reynolds' Handi-vac is a handheld vacuum sealer which works to keep your foods safe from freezer burn and maintain freshness. The Handi-Vac works with specialty bags that have a small air valve in the top right corner. You place the Handi-vac suction directly on the air valve and suck the air out of the bag until the bag becomes tight around the food. Once everything is sealed, you can freeze the food and keep it fresh for much longer than a non-vacuumed bag.

Uses 6 AA batteries

Batteries last 100 bag sealings

Sealing takes 6 to 13 seconds

Vacuum bags come in 2 sizes: 1 gallon and 1 quart

Vacuum bags are microwaveable

Vacuum bags are resealable

Debbie Meyer Kake Kut'r

Debbie Meyer's Kake Kut'r's are an innovative way to perform a seemingly simple task - cutting a piece of cake. The Kake Kut'r differs from a standard knife by using dual blades and dual handles. The 2 blades work together to cut the piece of cake you want, and once you're finished, you can lift the piece by squeezing the handles together. This allows you to cut cake without messy fingers and without the use of a knife and server combination.

Debbie Meyer got the idea for the Kake Kut'r after being horrified by people licking their fingers between each cake serving. As they served each piece of cake - using 1 knife and their fingers to balance - they would then lick their fingers and move onto the next piece.

Shapes

V-Shaped - ideal for round cakes

Square (sheet) shaped - ideal for square or rectangular cakes

Rectangular (loaf) shaped - idea for log or columnar cakes

As you move the stripper along the cob the blade sits flush with the kernels and strips them away. As the container becomes full of kernels you can empty it onto the plate by turning it around since the container is open-ended. The stripper has rubber handles for no-slip grip and a stainless steel blade that is detachable for cleaning.

OXO International is the company behind the popular kitchen brand, Good Grips. Their philosophy started with the simple premise that kitchen items don't have to hurt your hands. This was in 1990 and since then, they have released over 500 products that are ergonomically designed with the user (and function) as the main focus.

The ShamWOW is a low-end absorbent solution designed to provide a fully reusable absorbent mat for spills and cleanup. It is meant to be used universally like a more traditional paper towel to clean up excess spills and messes. The ShamWOW was originally marketed and sold on television infomercials in the summer of 2007 and has since been more widely adopted and available. The original ShamWOW set includes 2 large and 2 mini ShamWOW towels an additional second set (8 ShamWOWs total) and a unique ShamWOW mop; designed out of the same ShamWOW absorbent materials.

The ShamWOW includes additional features such as a 10 year warranty as advertised on the official site, a plethora of demonstrations and tutorial videos, and a long list of included accessories depending on where the product is purchased (several different info-mercials include varying products as a bonus for purchasing the ShamWOW).

It is worth noting the original infomercial sponsor Vince Shlomi (also known as Vince Offer) additionally advertised a product known as the "Slap-chop"; which is a mini blender/ chopping device.

Billy Mays, a well-renowned infomercial salesman, also advertised a similiar product known as the "Zorbeez" which was released two years prior to the ShamWOW and works in a very similiar fashion to absorb spills and messes. Popular Mechanics compared the two products and declared ShamWOW the more effective winner.

Painful eye irritation occurs when onion vapors make contact with your eye. Onions contain enzymes that turn into irritating fumes when they make contact with the air. Experts agree that the most effective solution is to wear goggles or contact lenses.

The huller works by plunging into the strawberry from the top (where the leaves and hull are), once you've pierced the whole center, you simply pull back and along with the huller comes the hull itself. Although it could be argued that removing the hulls from strawberries is easier with a knife, the Oxo Huller does not waste any fruit as it's solely centered around the hull.

But there are those out there who still love butter and covet it's fatty goodness. This butter cutter takes your butter up a notch by providing you with an easy way to slice off a chunk that is perfectly even and ready for your toast. You place a stick of butter into the container, and by squeezing the press, a perfectly formed piece drops out. The Butter Cutter can store the butter in the fridge and is dishwasher safe.

The Butter Cutter has been in its design phase for the last 10 years. Surprisingly, creating a mold that would work and was durable was more difficult than the inventor originally thought. However, in its final iteration, he found a winner. The food sleeve lets you eat the sloppiest of meals while maintaining a tad of decorum by letting the food slip out without getting onto your hands. It'll also let you eat the food while it's hot since you don't need to wait for it to cool down before chowing down. Great for on-the-go eating or outdoor BBQ's. The fact that they're dishwasher and microwave-safe make it easier to use these sleeves than not.
