The Klipsch HD Theater 500 is a compact, high-definition, and 5.1-channel home theater system being offered at an affordable price. The second of three Klipsch HD theater systems, the Klipsch HD Theater 500 is a downgrade from the Klipsch HD Theater 1000 in that four of its speakers sport one (versus dual) 2.5” IMG drivers and one MicroTractrix horn-loaded .75” aluminum dome tweeter, although its center speaker does sport dual 2.5” IMG drivers. In addition, the Theater 500 downgrades to an 8” (versus 10”) woofer with a hybrid class D amplifier. Like its predecessor, the Theater 500’s horn-loaded tweeter technology delivers genuine “lifelike sound” and produces more output per less energy. It should also be noted that the Theater 500 can either be wired into a PC set-up or act as an entry level TV entertainment system. However, the Theater 500 does not come with a receiver. The Klipsch HD Theater 500 retails for a more affordable $599.99 (versus $899.99) and comes with a 5 year limited warranty.
