Klipsch Palladium P-39F

The Klipsch Palladium P-39F speaker is a high-fidelity, luxury floorstanding unit designed to cater toward serious audiophiles. It features acoustically inert, carbon-infused, thermoset composite 90x60-degree Tractrix horns and phase plugs, a 0.75-inch titanium diaphragm super tweeter with twin N28H neodymium magnet motor strucutre combined with a 4:1 high-compression chambered phase plug. The Palladium also comes equipped with 3x9-inch hybrid aluminum/Rohacell/Kevlar diaphragm woofers, a 4.5-inch inverted aluminum diaphragm midrange and a high-flow, low-restriction, die-cast aluminum midrange and woofer frames (with integrated heatsinks). The entire speaker is also tri-wired with gold-plated brass Klipsch binding posts (with gold-plated bus bars). These speakers are very expensive, priced at around $15,000 per pair.

List price is actually $20k.

As you might expect at this price, these are phenomenal speakers. They are big and heavy, but the "boat back" design makes them seem svelte. I got them in the espresso finish which somewhat mutes the zebra wood veneer. I much prefer them with the grills removed, but marital equilibrium requires otherwise.

I will let the pros delve into the technical aspects of the P-39F, but my admittedly biased opinion is that these are the best sounding speakers I have ever heard.

Only complaint: the binding post are on the bottom of the speaker. One must lay the speaker on its side to hook up the wires, and because of limited clearance to the floor, banana plugs won't work. I used bare wire.

I hope they will come out with different veneers for the cabinets. Klipsch is a legend in sound and I have been around the Klipschorn loudspeakers my whole life. My dad bought a pair back in 1984 and again in 2000. Shows you how long good products last and the P 39 F sounds nothing short of perfection!
