The LaCie Big Disk Extreme+ Dual is a desktop hard drive designed for a professional appearance and fast data transfers. It comes with eSATA 3Gbits, built-in pre-configured RAID 0 for fast storage but poor data security in the case of a hard drive failure, and is contained in a compact aluminum d2 design. It comes bundled with EMC Retrospect Express software which is good for users who don't want to hunt down backup management and data restoration software. It also comes with the LaCie Setup Assistant to make it easy to format in case the user does not like the setup it comes with. The d2 design allows for natural cooling with the aluminum outside and the thermoregulated progressive smart fan which helps keep the device cool and quiet.
