The LaCie Hard Disk is a 500GB, 750GB or 1TB external hard drive which comes in two versions. The basic version has only a USB 2.0 connection and therefor a maximum transfer rate of 35MB/s whereas the expanded version has USB 2.0, two Firewire 400 ports, and 1.5Gbits/s eSATA which boosts the maximum data transfer to 80MB/s. An elegant black mirror-polished design by Neil Poulton includes an ambient blue LED underneath, and fanless operation keeps the unit running quiet. Plug & Play operation makes for painless setup, and software for both Windows and Mac users is included. The version with the 2 Firewire connections allows the hard drive to connect to your computer and another device such as a digital camera at the same time.
