The Cons:Requires six AA batteries. Crane capacity is pretty limited. Very pricey since its discontinuation.
The LEGO Technic Mobile Crane is a fairly large sized kit that allows the construction of a crane. For use with other LEGO Technic kits, this crane has a fully articulating upper section with an extendable crane that has string cables to lift things.

It has a motor to raise the crane and to extend the boom. Four retractable stabilizers support the crane when in use. There are eight wheels and each set can turn. This kit comes with alternate directions that show how to rebuild the model as a harbor crane. This set has almost 1300 pieces and when completed measures over 13" long.
