Introduced in mid-September 2008, the D-LUX 4 is an advanced digital point and shoot camera from Leica. Targeted towards prosumers and consumers interested in higher quality camera options, the D-LUX 4 is a secondary point and shoot alternative to the DSLR, for when the portability and simpler functionality of a compact outweigh the size, weight and complexity of larger more expensive cameras. With complete manual controls, high quality internals and RAW capability, and a wide variety of accessories such as a viewfinder, separate flash and a hand grip, the D-LUX 4 is both customizable and expandable, for professional use in any number of situations. Pricing has not been announced, but it is expected to be significantly more than the D-LUX 3.
