The Leica X1 is a compact high performance camera release by Lecia in September 2009. This classically styled camera gives you the option of fully automatic or manual control and contains a 12 megapixel CMOS sensor and a Leica Elmarit 24 mm F2.8 lens. It has a fixed focal length of 35mm, which is considered a classic for reportage photography. There is a 2.7" LCD screen to view what you are shooting and review shots you have already taken and has a built in pop-up flash with several modes including red-eye reduction. The autofocus gives fast focusing letting photographers react in an instant and with face recognition to allow complete concentration on framing the picture rather than focusing. It stores photos in JPEG format for immediate use, but also can store image files in the Adobe Digital Negative Format (DNG) to allow exploitation of all the benefits of the recorded sensor data.
