The Cons:Display is 16:9 - loses essential vertical space next to the professional 16:10 standard, poor for viewing vertically oriented material such as word documents, websites. Currently lacks some configuration options found on the previous generation W510 such as a Blu-ray drive. Higher level configurations get quite pricey.

The Lenovo ThinkPad W520 is a part of Lenovo's W series of laptops that have been released with updated models for 2011. The reason behind to new models are recent updates in hardware, chief among them are the second generation of processors from Intel.

This model is intended to be among the most robust available in Lenovo's laptops and its price and hardware options reflect that. The system can fit processors up to the second generation Intel i7 quad core extreme for very high processing power. This, coupled with up to 32GB of RAM and NVIDIA Quadro 2000M 2GBVRAM graphics, allow the laptop to run multiple demanding programs including any game at high settings that around the laptop's release and most for over a year afterward. The system can also be configured with up a 160GB solid state drive for additional storage with very fast access.
