Lenovo ThinkPad W700

Evolved from the T61p, the ThinkPad W700 is a business class workstation laptop. Based on the new Centrino 2 platform, the W700 is a powerhouse with support for the newest and fastest 45nm Core 2 Duos and DDR3 ram. Unlike the W500, the W700 features a 17" screen, a full sized keyboard including number pad, and a Wacom digitizer to the right of the trackpad. Another feature that Lenovo has added specifically for graphic designers is an integrated color calibrator that sits in the keyboard and scans the display to adjust settings automatically. Designed to target professional photographers, graphic artits and engineers that need all the performance they can get, the W700 includes the new NVIDIA Quadro FX 3700, and the first Intel Quad Core Extreme CPU in a laptop.

Details

An upgraded W700ds was announced in December 2008. Marketed towards professional photographers, the W700ds features an addon second 10.6" screen that is housed within the primary one, as well as a higher default configuration. This addition doesn't come cheap however, the upgraded package starts at $3,499.
