Lenovo ThinkPad W701ds
$3,800.00
Released March, 2010
The Pros:17" professional 16:10 1080p RGB-LED backlit main display - much better colour accuracy, contrast and viewing angles than your average display. Built-in HueyPro hardware colour calibration. DisplayPort and DVI digital video outs.
The Cons:Display is still a TN panel - far worse quality than an all-out calibrated IPS monitor. Not as widely available as Lenovo's other ThinkPad offerings - not customizable on the US site for instance. Extremely large and heavy - not for taking to work every day.
The ThinkPad W701ds is the dual-screen version of Lenovo's high-end W701 notebook laptop. The W701ds and its single-screen cousin share many features in common, such as the Wacom digitizer with pen.

The Wacom technology registers writing easily, without having to press the pen down very hard. The UPEK fingerprint reader, an interactive security system, is another shared feature. The W701ds is an upgrade of Lenovo's previous dual-screen notebook offering, the W700ds. The option of Intel's Core i7-920 2.66 GHz processor is a result of this upgrading, as is the inclusion of Nvidia Quadro FX 3800M graphics. While the primary display is a 17" WUXGA (1920 x 1200 resolution), the secondary display is a 10.6" WXGA (1280 x 800 resolution). The nine pound weight of the W701ds makes it a little less portable than other notebook laptops.
