The Lenovo ThinkPad X301 is Lenovo's next generation of X300 introduced in September 2008. It maintains the X300's LED backlit screen, good battery life and ultra slim enclosure while adding a yet-to-be-released upgraded ultra low voltage processor (the ULV U9300 or U9400 - running at 1.2 and 1.4GHz respectively), upgraded DDR3 ram (up to 2GB), upgraded SSDs up to 120GB, and a new DisplayPort jack, the X301 will also feature better mobile broadband, GPS functionality and the ability to use WiMAX on future models. For durability the X301 is constructed with an internal roll cage for support surrounded by a carbon-fiber case.
