Lexmark X7675 Professional

The Lexmark X7675 is the high-end edition of Lexmark's "Professional" series of all-in-one inkjet machines.  The X7675 has print, scan, copy, and fax capabilities, and functions as a photo-printer as well.  Print speeds are fast, ranging up to 32 pages per minute, and the machine features higher-end colour print resolution, up to 4800x2400 dpi.  The X7675 has wireless printing, at 802.11b/g/n standards.  Copying and scanning utilizes a legal-sized flatbed, with 600x1200 dpi resolution and the ability to quickly scan documents to a USB device.  The fax function uses a 33.6 Kbps modem and features a 25-page automatic document feeder for multiple-item fax or copy jobs.  PC-free photo printing can be accomplished using PictBridge-compatible USB devices or flash-memory card slots, and is facilitated by the available 2.4" colour display.

***ABSOLUTE FANTASTIC ALL-IN-ONE*** I purchased this all-in-one printer after reading reviews on the Epson, Hp, cannon, brother, and Dell all-in-ones. All of these other brands had bad reviews, either product or software problems. I only saw a few reviews on the Lexmark and they were all good. I have only owned hp printers and loved the quality but after careful consideration I went with the Lexmark and am so glad that I did. Very easy setup for wireless scanning, printing, faxing & coping. the software bundle works very well with this printer. Only took about 30 min to be ready for full duty. Auto doc feeder works fabulously, which was the main reason I wanted an all-in-one with a doc. I only use it wireless feature and it is fantastic, all the computers in my house have access to all the features. The print quality is not bad by far, but not as good as my old ph photosmart 1215 with is not supported by windows vista. Scanned files sizes are a bit larger than I had expected, but the quality and ease is well worth it. If you are looking for a printer that will do everything, and will do it well, with no software problems than check this one out.

Don't know about "Fantastic". But I did post a CON before I tried pushing the right button - it does have automatic duplexing.
It does print well, it scans well, and it faxes (haven't seen the quality yet).
I do have three problems:

  1. The print spooler on my Vista Ultimate SP1 crashes right after I log in. It restarts a minute or so later, but it shouldn't do this
  2. The device locks up for no apparent reason. It appears to happen at odd times whenever either a call rings in, or I pickup the phone to make a call. When one of these events happen, it starts to wake up (having gone to "sleep") displaying the "Lexmark" logo, resetting the internal mechanism and then just stops. The only way to get it to work further is to force it off (hold the power button until it turns off) and then turn it back on.
  3. The "scan from front panel" function does not work reliably to my Vista machine. It seems to work well with my wife's XP box, however.
