I called the authorized service repair guy to have the tv picked up on Monday since it is still under warranty (LG has a 2 year), and now the line has disappeared again ! I guess I will have to cancel the pickup untill the problem shows up again on a more permanent basis so he can see it.

You know, it could be a bad contact or something very subtle like that.  Personally, I think you should call the service people and have them send it off to LG.  There's obviously some kind of problem going on, so it's better to get it fixed sooner rather than later, and especially when that later starts to get out of your warranty period!

Yes, it's definitly some subtle thing, because we have been watching it now for 8 hours with no problems. I don't think the service area here would send it off to LG unless it was something really severe, especially since it looks normal most of the time. I will keep monitoring it for awhile, and hope for the best.
