LG 55LX6500
$3,600.00
Released January, 2010
The Pros:Screen has very low reflection and glare. Upscales older DVDs gracefully, makes them seem high definition. Picture is very bright, clearly visible even in bright rooms.
The Cons:Confusion regarding the 240 Mhz mode can make the picture seem blurred. Included cables are inadequate for many setups.
The LG 55LX6500 is one of two 3D-Ready, backlit LED HDTVs (47LX6500, 55LX6500) released in May 2010. The larger 55” 55LX6500 offers 3D effects via an optional pair of 3D glasses, but like its predecessor is based on a 1080p resolution with an 8,000,000:1 contrast ratio.

Signature to the HDTV set is its connectivity, which includes integrated Ethernet and optional WiFi (adapter required). So long as a user has at least a local broadband connection, he or she can access online NetCast Entertainment services like YouTube, Yahoo TV Widgets and Picasa. Plus the LG 55LX6500’s HDMI ports coupled with its 24p Real Cinema and TrueMotion 240Hz technologies means a Blu-ray disc can be watched in its pure original format, without blurs or other unwanted discrepancies.
