LG 60PK550
$2,000.00
Released March, 2010
The Pros:Very inexpensive for such a large set with such good picture quality. Incredibly good value for the dollar. Great color reproduction - particularly after calibration.
The Cons:Poor remote. Quality control issues. Loud buzzing sound - can be rectified by tightening some screws in the back.
The LG 60PK550 is the 60 inch member of the PK550 series of plasma televisions announced at CES 2010. It is the largest member of the series which includes two other sizes: 42 and 50. It is built with a slender frame so that doesn't take up as much space as a traditional big screen television.

It has a USB connection and HDMI inputs. The LG 60PK550 includes the LG new panel which is designed to reduce reflections inside of the plasma panel. The PK550 series is set to be released in the second or third quarter of 2010, and although the price has not been released, the 60PK550 is likely to be one of the higher priced models.

Glass used for the screen is quite reflective, so controlling the light in the room is important

#sharp_aquos_lc_60e88un I think I've finally found the tv I'm going to buy. I was first investigating the
#lg_60pk550 for a while, the combination of big screen, great picture quality and a low price is very enticing. However being a plasma I was naturally wary of the weight and power consumption. Lo and behold here comes this Sharp. Same size screen, great picture quality and Dell is selling this for $1800.
In the US the LG can be purchased for about 1300 so the price difference definitely favors that. However, in Canada the prices are much closer. Being an LCD the Sharp is 20 pounds lighter and has a much better power rating.
The one thing that would make this tv an absolute no brainer, but I've been unable to find the answer is if it handles 120hz input. Because if it did then it becomes 3d compatible which would make this tv the best deal on the market.
