The BD390 is a Blu-ray Disc player announced by LG at CES 2009. This product is part of a series designed to replace 2008’s LG BD300 which broke new ground by featuring Netflix internet streaming, allowing users to instantly watch movies, TV shows and other video content. Like last year’s model, the BD390 will also offer Netflix access in addition to YouTube videos and CinemaNow’s pay-per-view HD movie content. This Blu-ray player is profile 2.0, meaning it’s compatible with BD-Live and BonusView, which can give users access to additional downloadable movie content through the internet. All internet content is enabled by the built-in Wi-Fi connection or Ethernet port. The BD390 can output full 1080p video for Blu-ray Discs as well as standard DVDs. Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio are also supported allowing for the best possible sound quality. While similar to the BD370 which was also announced at CES, this model additionally offers 7.1 channel audio outputs for non-HDMI AV receivers and 1GB of built in memory for BD-Live content. The BD390 is expected to be available in June of 2009.
