LG dLite (GD570)

$149.00 Released August, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Outer LED display is really unique and produces attractive and customizable light patterns. Calls can be silenced just by flipping the phone, very convenient and unique. Good photo quality for the price.

The Cons:Has a relatively long startup time for this type of phone. Limited number of background displays and cannot download new animated wallpapers. Must use proprietary headphones, does not have a 3.5mm jack.

The LG dLite (GD570) is one of three 'feature phones' (along with the LG GS170 and LG Sentio) that mark LG's first time working with T-Mobile. It features a concealed LED matrix on the front that displays icons for alerts, caller ID, time and date, as well as customizable edge-lit LED light colors and patterns, a 2.8-inch display and T-Mobile's Social Buzz app.

Additionally, the LG dLite sports a microSD/microSDHC memory slot for additional storage capacity.

The dLite's concealed front LED matrix is capable of displaying a variety of information in a manner rarely seen in North America, setting it apart from similar 'dumbphones' in terms of looks and functionality while its inner 2.8-inch display offers fairly standard menus and features for a phone of this class. T-Mobile's Social Buzz app allows the dLite to quickly display social network status updates. Meanwhile, the dLite's microSD/microSDHC is particularly helpful in conjunction with the its inbuilt mp3 player, allowing for greater song storage. The LG dLite is available in 'bubblegum' or 'electric blue'.
