LG GP08LU10

The LG GP08LU10 is a slim external DVD re/writer, intended for netbook owners who require disc writing while on-the-go. This DVD drive can write and read DVDs at 8x speed, and CDs at 24x respectively. While the LG GP08 comes in both black and white varieties, only the white edition is compatible with the Mac platform. Both versions connect to a computer via a USB 2.0 interface, and do not require an external power source to make the drive functional. This external DVD writer features lightscribe technology enabling users to label discs with the writer laser itself. Also featured is SecurDisc technology, allowing users to protect their data with not only copy protection, but also a digital signature so others can verify the origin of the created disc itself. The LG GP08LU10 was released in late 2008.
