Linksys Dual-Band Wireless-N Gaming Adapter
The Linksys Dual-Band Wireless-N Gaming Adapter (WGA600N) converts gaming consoles that have a wired ethernet port to wireless. It needs no drivers, so it works out-of-the-box with an Xbox, Xbox 360, Playstation 2 or 3, or GameCube. In some cases where additional network configuration is required, there is a web based configuration tool. It allows you to either connect to a wireless router, or to connect to other game systems with the WGA600N, using the "Wireless-LAN Party Mode."

Specifications
- Wireless A/B/G/N
- WEP, WPA, or WPA Encryption with WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)
- Dimensions: 4.33" x 4.33" x 1.26"
Called an adapter the device is a regular Ethernet-to-Wireless bridge that converts wireless networking signals into wired. While marketed as a gaming adapter, the bridge is compatible with any device that has an ethernet port including media streaming boxes or laptops. The dual-band means the adapter can communicate with a compatible router in either 2.4GHz frequency - which can cause interference with other devices such as microwaves - or 5GHz - which is a relatively new frequency that doesn't have the same interference problems. You can also make multiple devices wireless by hooking them up wired to an ethernet switch, and then connecting the switch to the wireless gaming adapter.
