The Linksys WRT400N is a simultaneous dual-band Wireless-N router for enhanced wireless communications. A step up from the WRT320N, the Linksys WRT400N trades its peer’s wired Gigabit capability for dual Wireless-N bands (5GHz / 2.4GHz) that are designed to work separately, yet simultaneously. This allows users to customize their configuration. For instance, one band can be used to surf, whereas the other can be configured for time-sensitive traffic such as music, gaming, and HD video. In addition, the WRT400N features an advanced SPI firewall with not just WEP, but also WPA and WPA2 security algorithms, giving it the ability to withstand heavy-duty hacker attacks. Additional features of the Linksys WRT400N router include MDI/MDI-X for no crossover cables, MIMO technology for enhanced range and fewer dead spots, and compliance with the draft IEEE 802.11n standard. The Linksys WRT400N retails for $129.95 and comes with a 1 year limited warranty.
