This is a wonderful book. In it, Annie B. Lawrence describes her own relationships and gives examples from her own practice of various situations she has encountered with her clients. What I enjoyed about this book is 1) true life examples; 2) questions one may ask of oneself to get deeper into situations 3) envisioning and 4) EFT exercises you can do yourself to assist in bringing your love into reality.

In this book, there is no blame. It's about finding out where you are and how to get where you want to be.

Lawrence's writing is truly magnetic and her ability to connect with the reader is superior. If you are ready to walk away with a great deal more knowledge than before, it's definitely time to begin this particular journey.

Relationships can bring out personal fears; humbling "fall to your knees" type of fear. We are faced with aspects of intimacy and self knowledge that can be challenging to address. Intimacy is scary to some who may not feel familiar with it, especially in childhood. Relationships can also force us to acknowledge shadows in ourselves that are sometimes difficult to see. "Preprogrammed beliefs and patterns passed on to you through your environment and families are your life lessons." We must take time for inner reflection and find what is true for us. What patterns exist? It is a path for the brave of heart to seek out a healing of spirit. Lawrence recommends journaling so that we become more aware of our moods, thoughts, and habits that can sabotage our greatest intentions. Her questions posted after each secret are quite helpful to gain a better understanding of where we are and where we want to be.

To become vulnerable enough to take an honest look at ourselves, we must develop trust in ourselves, the relationship, and in a loving universe. Being able to give up our need to control everything is where change begins. According to the author, this is where we own our true power. Sometimes in childhood, we learn to close our hearts as a self protective device. This soul journey can only be done with an open heart...a heart open to intimacy. As our issues surface, we focus on our healing, and life is anew with each resolved issue.

With increased awareness, we are ready to create a new vision of love. "Meditation and yoga had taught them (Judy and Larry) how to access their inner wisdom. This book was recommended to me and my husband. Our once blissful young marriage had taken a bad turn after long periods of stress. We felt totally disconnected from eachother. The tools I learned from this author were life changing, especially The "EFT technique" that works magically to release defeating habits.It also helped me realize, how much of the stress in our lives had been created by our old thinking patterns. The commit to love helped us reprioritze our relationship. Has truly changed us for the better and we are right back on track, and my husband has not even finished the book yet. The tools I learned I have applied in all areas of my life for immediate self improvement, each day I uncover more about myself and find I experience less and less stress and well. I even used "EFT" to quit smoking after trying everying I could find that did not work. I have forgotten about cigarettes as well as the explosive arguments between my husband and I that are long a thing of the past. Worth its weight in gold. Much Thanks to this author!
