The iAudio 10 is a portable media player from Cowon that functions as an updated version of the company's iAudio 9 model. The Cowon C2 is a portable media player (PMP) with a touch screen and wide range of media format support. It can be considered as a successor to the ever popular Cowon D2 (and D2+). They are similar in many ways such as the small form factor and expandable memory by the means of microSD cards. The C2 offers a much improved built-in software and user interface; it is minimal and easy to navigate. This PMP retains the good sound quality and sound equaliser that its predecessor has been known for with JetEffect 3.0. Cowon S9 Curve

Introduced in late August 2008, the Cowon S9 Curve is a powerful portable media device. Including a 3.3" 480 x 272 pixel touchscreen, the device is shorter and narrower than the first generation iPod Touch. Initially shipping with 8 or 16GB of internal flash storage, a 32GB version will follow after launch. Inside, the device features a 500MHz dual-core CPU, T-DMB digital television tuner, Bluetooth, FM radio, TV-out, and G-Sensor accelerometer. Rumors of a delay were recently dismissed with the first shipments going out on December 15th 2008. Prices were also announced in the press release - undercutting the Apple iPod Touch by $40-60. The 8GB model will retail for $199.99 while the 16GB version will come in at $239.99.

The Cowon iAudio 9 is an MP3 player that supports both audio and video content. It can receive new videos, songs, and Flash games through a USB interface, and then later transmit that content to a compatible TV set via an included TV-OUT multimedia interface port. Cowon D3 Plenue

The Cowon D3 Plenue is a portable media player (PMP) released in early 2010 as the first Cowon device to ever feature the Android 2.1 (Éclair) operating system. Similar in design to a smartphone, the D3 Plenue offers 1080p video playback via a 3.7” WVGA capacitive touch AMOLED display, video transmission via composite and HDMI connections, and video recording courtesy of an internal microphone. As for connectivity, the device supports phone calls via Bluetooth, and audio/video transmissions and VoIP over WiFi. The Cowon X7 is an upper mid-cost portable media player. This player has a 4.3" LCD display with 480x272 resolution, as well as a TV output. Cowon V5W

The Cowon V5W is a portable media player (PMP) released in late 2010 as an upgrade from the Cowon V5. It builds from its predecessor by incorporating WiFi 802.11b/g connectivity in addition to the Opera browser, a YouTube viewer, an S/PDIF output, a DVB tuner, and a larger storage capacity. The Cowon Q5W straddles the line between feature-rich hard drive based portable media player and a stripped down laptop. Running off of the Windows CE 5.0 operating system you can access features such as MSN messenger and an Internet browser, with flash support. Interaction with the player is done through the 5" touch screen with a resolution of 800x480. Accessing the Internet is achieved through the player's integrated WiFi B/G connection. Cowon has also added a wealth of expandability options such as Bluetooth support for accompanying headphones or speakers, and video out capabilities for displaying your media on your television. The Q5W also continues Cowon's trend of format support, handling pretty much every consumer level audio and video codec around.

The maximum video resolution supported is 720x480 which is the same as DVD discs. For video out, the connections available are S-Video, Composite and Component. Cowon also includes a remote in the box for controlling the player from across the room. The remote is infrared based so you will need to ensure the player is setup properly with a direct line of site to the IR receiver.

Cowon A3

The Cowon A3 is the successor to the moderately successful A2 and is the less feature filled companion to the Cowon Q5W. Where the Q5W offers a multitude of features bordering on a full fledged computer Cowon kept the A3 to its portable media player roots and significantly upgraded the media capabilities. The A3 uses Texas Instrument's DaVinci chipset which decodes a bevy of formats including HD video and MKV container. Cowon also includes other features such as video and audio recording to stay competitive with the other players in this price range.

Despite the relatively large amount of formats supported the A3 cannot play back files that are encrypted with any form of DRM, for both video and audio. Furthermore, as of firmware (1.18) h264 support is not functional, though Cowon is promising improved support in future firmwares. Video recording can be done through composite or S-Video to capture standard definition video, but HD video capture is not supported.

Latest firmware is V1.24

The unit can be charged through USB or the included power adapter. The USB port doubles as a data transfer port, not only between the A3 and your computer, but also between other devices and the A3. Cowon adds Universal Mass Storage reading which means that many digital cameras, portable storage drives, and even other media players can connect to the A3 and transfer data back and forth.

The Cowon V5 HD is a portable media player (PMP) released in South Korea on January 1st, 2010, for 299,000 KRW ($256). It features a 4.8” display, integrated RAM (8GB/16GB/32GB), and SDHC memory expandability. More importantly, the V5 HD can not only playback 720p video, but it can even channel that content to an HDMI or Composite display device. At its core, however, is the Windows CE 6.0 operating system, as well as a slew of wide-ranging applications: world clock, RSS reader, flash games, a voice recorder, and an optional T-DMB tuner. As of March 2010 Cowon has decided to bring the V5 to North America. Available in the same 8/16/32GB capacities, the device will not feature any 3G/WiFi connectivity, and will also lack the optional over-the-air TV tuner.

The Cowon D2 is a flash based MP3 player with above average battery life, sound quality and full SD/SDHC card integration. It comes with a touchscreen and tactile inputs to navigate through files. While it is readily available at online stores, it is not possible to find this product at a brick and mortar, since Cowon does not even supply to those kind of stores. The GUI is clean and works quite well. If you do get bored with the look of it though, there are many themes available for free on different forums.

The Cowon iAudio E2 is a compact MP3 player so small that users can wear it on their keychain. It’s designed strictly for listening to hours of music, including MP3s, WMAs, and OGG Vorbis. It’s not yet released (late 2009) and so there is a tremendous deal of speculation as to what additional features may be. Cowon’s iAudio E2 teaser — which was released on the Internet in mid 2009 — suggests the possibility of an integrated camera, as well as the ability for the unit to function as a USB thumb drive. What is known for certain is that despite being similar to the iPod Shuffle, the E2 will include actual buttons for volume and track skip control. Included also is Cowen’s EQ presets (eight in total), which will offer a distinct advantage in sound quality.

Cowon iAudio 7

The iAudio 7 is an audio player by Cowon that is the successor to their popular iAudio 6 player. Cowon has changed the storage mechanism of the iAudio 6 from a 0.85" hard disk to pure flash memory. In the process they've also increased the storage capacity offering 4GB and 8GB options. Lastly, Cowon has changed the 1.3" screen from OLED technology to a more traditional LCD screen while retaining the same resolution of 160x180. The comparatively higher resolution is used for clearer depiction of your photos and videos.

Controlling the iAudio is done through their Swing Touch interface which uses a touch sensitive stripe that you swish your thumb across for scrolling action. File format support is broad, on the audio side there is the standard support for mp3 and WMA, along with more fringe formats such as OGG and FLAC. All major image formats are supported. On the video end, only Xvid is supported, and Cowon includes conversion software inside the box.

Cowon is claiming that the built-in lithium-polymer batter provides up to 60 hours of playback. The maximum battery life is achieved through pure audio playback, video playback takes more energy and thus reduces the amount of battery time. The battery is also rechargeable directly through a computer's USB port.

The iAudio 7 is launching in South Korea first and is expected to be released in North America sometime in 2007.

At 5" it features a 700MHz RMI Alchemy AU1250 processor, a 800x480 touch screen display, bluetooth and T-DMB connectivity, and an internal hard drive, 40/60 or 80GB depending. With support for a wide variety of video and audio formats, it is rated to last up to 9 hours of non-stop video playback. While it has launched recently in Korea, the price has not yet been released in North America.

The Cowon iAudio T2 is a 2GB compact MP3 player presented in a wearable necklace design. The device’s screen is small yet legible with a 0.9-inch OLED display. The Cowon iAudio F2 is a 2GB compact MP3 player that plays music, video and photo files. The device’s screen is a 1.3” in diameter with a 128 x 160 pixel resolution. Also included is line-in recording, voice recording and FM radio. High quality file formats such as OGG and FLAC can also be decoded by the iAudio F2, along with subscription-based formats.
