The Everex gBook VA1500V will be Everex's first full-sized laptop. Like their gPC and CloudBook the gBook runs gOS Linux and comes pre-loaded with open-source and free software tools, and has is marketed as an entry level budget laptop. It features a 1.5GHz VIA C7 -M Processor, 512MB DDR2 SDRAM, 60GB SATA HDD, DVD-ROM/CD-RW Combo Drive, 15.4” WXGA+ Widescreen Display, VIA Chrome9™ HC IGP and WLAN 802.11b/g.

Everex CloudBook

The Everex CloudBook UMPC was announced on January 8th, 2008 at CES in Las Vegas as a direct competitor to the popular Asus EEE PC. Like its competitor it features a 7" screen, an open-source distribution of Linux (gOS Rocket), a low-power CPU, 512 MB of RAM, comes pre-loaded with open-source and free software tools, and has as suggested retail price of $399. It features a 1.2 GHz VIA C-7 CPU, 512 MB of RAM. According to the manufacturer the CloudBook has 5 hours of battery life, which is an improvement over the Asus EEE.

Availability and Pricing

The Everex CloudBook will be available from Walmart.com beginning January 25th, 2008 retailing for $399. The CloudBook is actually the same hardware as the Packard Bell Easynote XS2 product released in Europe.

Everex gPC TC2502

The Everex GREEN gPC TC2502 is the first mass-market $200 desktop computer. It features a customized, cleaned-up version of Ubuntu Linux known as gOS or and comes pre-loaded with the most popular open-source software such as Firefox, Skype, OpenOffice.org 2.2, GIMP, Xing Movie Player. It relies heavily, and integrates with many web sites and web applications like gMail, YouTube, Facebook, and Wikipedia. It is marketed as a "green" product as its CPU only draws about 2 Watts of power idle (the whole system still requires 20 to 30 Watts though), and runs at a very quiet 28 dB (for reference, a typical 80 mm CPU fan runs at 50 dB).

Partners

The GREEN gPC is based off of a VIA Mini-ITX mainboard and VIA C7-D CPU. Running on the gOS Linux distribution it features deep integration with Google web services including gMail, Google Calendar, and includes a Google search widget on the desktop. It is sold exclusively at Wal-Mart. Everex is actively involved in Free and Open-Source Software (FOSS) projects and encourages developers to participate in developing their platform.

Availability

The gPC is a fully-functional out-of-the-box desktop computer retailing at Wal-Mart for $200. It first became avaialable November 1st, 2007 online and in-store.

Everex gPC2 TC2512

The Everex gPC2 TC2512 is the second generation gPC; it has not yet been released, but will likely supplant its predecessor as an affordable minimalistic desktop PC. The gPC2 will run on gOS v2.0 alternative operating system. This is just one way, Everex keeps costs down. The gPC2 does not make many upgrades to the original gPC, offering the same CPU, RAM, and video specifications. The hard disk now uses SATA-150 instead of ATA-133, though it is still 80GB. Like the original gPC, it is available at Walmart and various other online retailers for $199.

Everex gPC mini

The Everex gPC mini is a soon to be released small form-factor computer measuring 172 x 226 x 422 mm. It is has a 1.86 GHz Pentium Dual-Core T2130 CPU and features the 945GM chipset. It includes 512 MB of 667 MHz DDR2 RAM, an on-board 120 GB hard drive, and a DVD writer. Pricing and availability is not yet known.
