Giant Rincon

The Rincon is the entry level bike in Giant's sport series followed by the Yukon and Yukon FX. Sharing the hardtail (no rear suspension) design as the Yukon, this bike retails for 150 dollars less which can be attributed to cheaper components, although it has a similar ALUXX-Grade Butted Aluminum Hydroformed frame which make it a good starter bike. Typically components may be upgraded later, but the base model comes with an SR XCM suspension fork, Tektro I.O. disc brakes, Shimano Alivio rear derailleurs and a choice of Kenda Nevegal tires with the black version or Kenda Small Block 8 with the silver. XS, S, M, L and XL sizes are available along with a women's version called the Rincon W which has a redesigned frame and is offered in silver/red trim and four sizes. Separate specs for the mens and womens version have been printed below and pictures for each have been included.

Giant Yukon FX

The Giant Yukon FX is a dual suspension sport mountain bike that offers Hayes MX-4 Disc brakes and ALUXX-Grade Butted Aluminum 4" suspension frame. This is Giant's only dual suspension bike in it's sport category, bringing similar features found in their more expensive Trance line to the casual enthusiast. Stepping up from the RockShox Dart 1 fork found in the basic Yukon model, the Yukon FX comes with a Dart 2 suspension fork with lockout and is paired with a rear Giant Air Shock. This rear shock is made with Gaint's own Maestro shock system design which was itself introduced by the company in 2005. The frame is available in four sizes (XS, S, M, L) and either black/white or black/silver color. Other components included are SRAM X4 trigger shifters/SRAM X4 rear derailleur, Shimano Alivio front derailleur, WTB Dual Duty XC double wall rims and Kenda Nevegal 26 x 2.1" tires.

2008 Giant Trance X2

Giant's new Trance X line falls between the x-country and all-mountain freestyle categories (good for trail riders and singletrack climbs and descents). The X2 is the entry level model, with the XO being the top end in the line. The Trance X2 deliver 5 inches of travel with Maestro Suspension's new setup, and the Giant design team has tweeked some design issues to keep the Trance X bikes lightweight around 27-30 lbs using the all-new Aluxx SL alloy frameset.

Giant Boulder SE

The Giant Boulder SE is part of Giant's entry level Lifestyle series of mountain bikes shared with the heavier steel framed Boulder. The frame on the SE model is made from ALUXX-Grade Butted Aluminum which is lighter, and an improved SR XCM suspension fork has been included as well as Shimano Acera rear derailleur and Suntour XCT V2 crank. Otherwise the components remain consistent with the basic Boulder version, save for the lighter frame and paint job which in this case is available in red and satin black(street version) and for the women's version a choice of pearl white with orange trim or silver with lavender trim. Speaking of which, the satin black street version comes with a set of Kenda K-Rad 26x2.1 tires, while the standard red version uses MTB Trail 26x2.1 tires. Specs for the standard/street and women's models are listed below; also color pictures of each model.

The XTC 2 is the lower-cost XTC hardtail mountain bike from Giant. For the 2010 version, the frame has been redesigned to be both lighter and stiffer. Compared to the XTC 1, this hardtail bike comes equipped with more value-oriented components. The Giant XTC 2 is equipped with Hayes MX-4 disc brakes as well as Shimano shifters and derailluers. The GFR FW is an entry-level BMX path bicycle from Giant that offers a step-up from the company's GFR CB model. Giant XTC Alliance

The Giant XTC Alliance is a midrange mountain bike designed for hard tail riding and racing. This bike is minimalistic in design, with a lightweight, stiff aluminum frame that best suits it for technical courses and long climbs. This bike features Shimano's new SLX components, with SLX rapid fire shifters and an XT rear derailluer, Deore front derailleur, and Race Face Ride XC crankset. The Rock Shox Recon SL Air fork is of the 100mm variety, and is equipped with lockout to allow a rider’s power to be converted into speed for climbing up hills. The hydraulic disc brakes are Avid Juicy 3s, while the rims are Mavic XM 117s. These manufacturing choices allow for the total cost of the bike to be kept to a minimum, while still providing adequate performance. The included pedals are of the Crank Brothers Smarty assortment.

Giant XTC Advanced

The Giant XTC Advanced is a lightweight mountain bike designed for advanced riders. This bike’s frame weighs under 1kg (2.2lbs) due to its full-composite construction. Giant XTC Alliance 29er 2

The XTC Alliance 29er 2 is the lower-cost model in the 2010 Alliance 29er series from Giant. This bike has been specifically designed for quick-handling. It has a short headtube length for lower handlebar placement, which in turn helps eliminate wheel flop at low speeds. The frame is constructed of composite and aluminum, and features a convertible rear dropout that allows single-speed or belt drive additions. Compared to the 29er 1, this mountain bike features a Marzocchi Forty-Niner TST2 tapered-steerer fork, Shimano Deore shifting, Shimano Alivio disc brakes, and Tracker 15mm thru-axle hub wheels with stainless spokes on a Giant P29 rim. The seat post is of the pivot variety, but may be changed if the rider desires a more stable design. Pedals are not included. The Giant XTC Alliance 29er 2 has a MSRP of $2075.

Giant XTC Alliance 29er 1

The XTC Alliance 29er 1 is the 2010 flagship model in the Alliance 29er series from Giant. This bike has been specifically designed for quick-handling. It has a short headtube length for lower handlebar placement, which in turn helps eliminate wheel flop at low speeds. The frame is constructed of composite and aluminum, and features a convertible rear dropout that allows single-speed or belt drive additions. Compared to the 29er 2, this mountain bike features a Fox 32 F29 RL-100 tapered-steerer fork, a Shimano Deore XT crankset, a Shadow rear derailleur and shifters, Avid Elixir 5 disc brakes and Tracker 15mm thru-axle hub wheels with DT Swiss Competition stainless spokes. The seat post is of the pivot variety, but may be changed if the rider desires a more stable design. The Giant XTC Alliance 29er 1 has a MSRP of $2850.

Giant Boulder

The Boulder is Giant's most affordable mountain bike which is good for casual trail or urban riding and is available in a women's version as well. This and the Boulder SE make up the entry-level Lifestyle series from Giant, with overall weight going down and component quality going up as you move up to the higher priced series. The main difference between the Boulder and Boulder SE is the frame which is made of supersized steel, compared to the SE which has a lighter ALUXX-Grade Butted Aluminum frame also found in the Yukon, Yukon FX and Rincon bikes. Six sizes are available as well as a color choice of blue or white(street version with different tires), and the women's version has been designed with a different frame and is available in pearl white with aqua trim. Updated specs for each version are included below, although current models include components such as Spinner Grind 1 fork, Shimano EF-50 trigger shifters, Shimano Altus rear derailleur and a choice of MTB Trail 26x2.1 tires with the blue version and Kenda K-Rad 26x2.1 tires with the white version.
