The iRiver E30 is a long-lasting, portable audio/visual media player released in Asia during late 2009, and later ported to America and Europe. It hosts a lithium-polymer battery designed to handle up to 52 hours of audio or 5 hours of video without needing a recharge. It also supports all major audio formats, the M-JPEG video format, and both JPEG and BMP still image formats. Included also is a 1.8” TFT display, a built-in FM tuner, and a miniUSB port. Signature to the E30 is its inclusion of SRS WOW HD audio enhancements, allowing the unit to deliver superior quality audio compared to competitor models. The unit retails in three forms, all depending on internal memory configuration: 2GB, 4GB, or 8GB.

The iRiver Story HD is an e-book reader with a high resolution six-inch e-ink display - at 1024x768px it features a 63.8 percent pixel increase over comparable models such as the Nook and Kindle, for enhanced image detail and text sharpness. The Story HD's Freescale processor has an advanced cortex chipset that provides a variety of performance improvements such as faster page turning response. With built-in WiFi, the Story HD allows you to access Google's own e-book store. The iRiver Cover Story is a mid-cost e-book reader. iRiver promotes the Cover Story as being more portable than their previous e-book reader offerings. The six inch touchscreen display of this e-book reader shows 8-grayscale e-ink, which recreates the same appearance as printed paper. The iRiver P35 is a portable media player from iRiver's 2009 lineup. The player offers audio and video playback along with Flash support, Office viewing, and an integrated FM radio. It comes with 8, 16 or 32GB of internal Flash memory and has a micro SD slot for increased expandability. The iRiver E200 is a mid-range portable media player similar to the iRiver E150. The main differences between the E150 and the E200 are screen size (the E150 sports a 2.4" LCD display, the E200 2.8") and battery life (the E200 only offers about 17 hours as opposed to the E150's 22 hours). Otherwise, the two PMPs sport the same basic features including SRS WOW HD sound field technology, a microSD slot and support for a wide variety of formats.

The E200's SRS WOW HD technology provides an enhanced listening experience as it offers greater bass performance on low-end headphones while offering simulated surround sound. The iriver E100 is iriver's first North American release since the popular Clix2. It is not considered a top-of-the-line mp3 player, but sits more in the lower end line for its class. It is a flash-based player and comes in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB models. True to iriver's previous media player models, it supports a wide range of audio formats and video formats, although video will require some conversion to work. The E100 has some nice added value for a player in this price range such as: built-in speaker, FM tuner, voice recorder, microSD slot and text reader. Requires Windows XP or or Windows Vista (no Mac support).

The iRiver P7 is a portable MP3 player announced at CES 2009 and released during the latter portion of 2009. Outfitted with a 4.3” (480x272 resolution) LCD touchscreen, the iRiver P7 media player offers 50 hours of audio playback and 7 hours of video playback, as well as access to photo images. In addition, the P7 MP3 player supports a wide array of codecs, including OGG, FLAG, and even XviD. The iRiver P7 player also boasts an FM player, 7 preset EQ settings, a microSD memory card slot for downloading data, and SRS WOW HD capabilities for high definition playback. The iRiver P7 does not yet feature a preset price, but speculators estimate the MSRP to be at a value under $200. Plus, the P7 will be available in 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB models.

iriver clix gen 2

iriver clix gen 2 is a portable audio player that succeeds the original clix that iriver released in 2006 to compete with Microsoft's Zune, and Apple's dominating iPod Nano. The clix falls in the compact flash player market that runs on solid state flash memory which allows for smaller players, increased battery life, but lower storage capacity. The clix comes in 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB variations for $149.99, $199.99, and $249.99 respectively.

The clix distinguishes itself through its large display while maintaining a small form factor. A high quality screen made from AMOLED technology produces brighter and sharper colors than traditional LCD equivalents. Controlling the clix is accomplished through iriver's patented D-Click System which involves clicking around the edge of the screen to navigate the menus: touch the top part of the screen to move the menu up, touch the left part to move back a level, etc.

iriver has made the clix compatible with most of the major formats such as mp3, WMA and OGG, and also supports Digital-Rights Media (DRM) protected music. As a result the clix gen 2 supports both subscription model services such as Urge, as well as straightforward purchased music.

Another feature that distinguishes the clix is the video playback capabilities. Playback is limited to mpeg4 which requires videos to be converted to the proper format, but once converted and loaded the player handles the files fine.

The clix supports a stripped down version of Flash that is mainly used for games, but can also be used to install productivity applications such as calendars and address books.

iriver e50

Announced in early December 2008 for release in the new year, the E50 is a small aluminum MP3 player from iriver. Featuring capacities of 2, 4 and 8GB the E50 includes a 1.8" colour LCD screen, an FM tuner, microphone and an amazing battery life of 52 hours for audio. Availability and prices have not been officially announced but rumors have it the 4GB model will be available for €69 (or about $90).

The iRiver Volcano is an entry-level MP3 player that handles MP3, WMA, OGG, and ASF audio file playback. It also supports voice recording, high-speed USB 2.0 file transfers, and 7 different equalizer settings. Signature to the Volcano is that it can be used as a USB thumb drive, in that music, text, picture, AND video files can be transferred onto the Volcano for storage. Included also is SRS WOW HD technology, allowing the Volcano to deliver fairly advanced-level audio output. It comes in three sizes (1GB/2GB/4GB) and five different colors.
