It is an improved and redesigned model inspired by the previous Shore models. It has a rear suspension design that improves on the previous FSR type. The ride is smoother in general, both uphill and down. This bike has a lowered bottom bracket that improves handling and stability due to a lower centre of gravity. The head tube is tapered to reduce weight, and the head angle is 65.5 degrees, optimized for downhill riding. The stock fork is a RockShox Totem with 180mm travel, and the shifters and rear derailleur are SRAM X7's, with a Shimano SLX E-type front derailleur. The rear cassette has 9 speeds, and the FSA Moto X mega crankset has two chainrings. The seat tube is full-length, and allows the rider to opt for a standard seatpost or upgrade to a telescoping one later. Another main feature is that the Truax 1 does not have a clevis in its suspension, reducing weight and limiting pressure points. The Truax Team is the only freeride model higher than this one.

Norco's Wolverine 2011 is an entry-level mountain bike that falls in the mid-range of the BC Trail lineup of trail bikes, and trails is indeed this model's specific intended purpose. It features mostly basic components on a 6061 aluminum hardtail frame, and the front suspension is Marzocchi's Dirt Jumper 3 fork. Basic Norco components are used in the saddle, seatpost, rims and hubs. Shimano Alivio shifters and rear derailleur couple with an Altus front derailleur and FSA Step Up cranks to make up the drivetrain. The brakes are Tektro mechanical disc. This bike is rather heavy relative to most of Norco's mountain bikes, over 35 pounds.

Norco Pinnacle (2011)

The Norco Pinnacle (2011) is the base unit in Norco’s Mountain Adventure series. Like its peers, it relies on Shimano shifters and derailleurs to allow riders to manage both climbing steep hills and cruising down slopes. However, the Pinnacle, released in particular as a downgrade from the Mountaineer, uses thinner tires with less durable hubs. So though the Norco Pinnacle is a mountain bike, it’s much better geared for only the lightest trails—as in those with a minimal amount of rocks and gravel. Mind you, the Pinnacle does still host its peer’s lightweight and durable alloy frame, meaning that riders can attain fairly high speeds with maximum control and handling. Plus it hosts premium brakes so bikers can make a quick stop at all times, regardless of speed and environmental conditions like rain and sleet.

Featured on the Bushpilot is an ultra lightweight aluminum frame with a sloped top tube that allows users to ride fairly fast while easily maintaining control. There’s also a special Suntour Travel Fork designed to more easily lock out, which in turns makes it easier for bikers to ride up hills. And though the Bushpilot isn’t necessarily geared for deep and rough trails, it features tough double-walled 26” wheels with stainless steel spokes so users can more easily traverse through such terrain. Even more helpful is the shifter, which hosts 24 separate gears so that users can quickly switch speed, whether suddenly going down a steep road or trying to climb a gravely pass.

The frame is the same as the Truax 1 below it, and the upgrades are entirely in the components. Upgrades over the Truax 1 include SRAM X9 shifters and rear derailleur, Shimano SLX front derailleur. The front fork is a substantial upgrade as well, to a Fox 36 180 Talas RC 2. Also upgraded are the seatpost, rims, tires, hubs, spokes, crankset and pedals. In fact, most of the components are different - see the manufacturer page for exact specifications. This model has a high price point and is recommended for experienced or committed downhill riders.

As the exact middle of the 7 bike line, the Nitro lacks the ultralight benefits of the carbon framed members, but utilizes the same custom hydroformed double butted 6061 alloy frame as the more pricey Fireball and still weighs in under 28 pounds. The RockShox Recon Gold TK coil with 100mm travel fork dampens the stress of rougher terrains and allows for intuitive feeling and handling in even highly physically demanding landscapes. The Shimano 27 speed drivetrain features an XT rear derailleur akin to the Fireball as well, providing smooth shifting and subsequently more efficient riding.

It has the standard Shore frame and rear moulding from previous models with a forged bottom bracket yoke and 175mm travel in the suspension. The drivetrain is based around SRAM X5 and X7 components with an FSA crankset and Wellgo pedals. The components and brakes are a mix of Norco, Avid and FSA and the rims are WTB with Kenda tires. The front suspension is a RockShox Domain Coil with 180mm suspension. The rear stays are linked with a one-piece forged arm. This bike is intended for downhill riding of all types. More serious or competitive riders might want to check out the 2011 Truax models, as they feature a lighter frame and more advanced components.

It has a substantially lower price point than the other models, though its components reflect this. Nonetheless, it uses the same M6 triple-butted aluminum frame as the other Faze models and its intended purpose is the same. This is the only Marathon model that uses RockShox instead of Fox suspensions (front and rear). The drivetrain is based mainly on Shimano Alivio components, and the brakes are also Shimano discs and levers. Alex rims couple with Norco and Shimano hubs, plus Kenda tires to form the wheels. This bike weighs 33 lbs and is noticeably heavier than the Faze 2 above it (and the others), so it is not as well suited for XC racing.

As a downgrade from the Bushpilot, it’s less capable of handle hard and rough trails and dangerous terrain. As such, the Mountaineer is best suited for handling busy city streets and light hiking trails. In particular, it downgrades from a double butted alloy frame to a less durable and less shock absorbing, standard alloy frame. One benefit to this frame, however, is that it’s a bit more lightweight, which helps users obtain slightly more handling and speed. Another switch is the downgrade from formula disc hubs to alloy hubs, which is more of an aesthetic change. Note also that the Mountaineer only has 21 gears. Regardless of the changes, the Norco Mountaineer (2011) still excels with sturdy mixed tread tires for handling rutted asphalt and bumpy trails, not to mention powerful mechanical breaks that allow users to make an abrupt stop whenever necessary.

It has a mid-range price point and has a variety of uses: it performs equally well on trails, dirt jumps, streets and in skate parks, and is most similar to the 125 in this respect. The frame is Norco's chromoly mainframe, and the front suspension is Marzocchi's Dirt Jumper 3. Being a dirt jumper, this model has only a single speed and uses a three-piece chromoly crankset with clear plastic pedals. There are hydraulic brakes on the front and rear, Norco in-house handlebar and stem and Alex rims with alloy hubs. This bike weighs 29 pounds, roughly average for the lineup.

Like the others it is best suited for trail and single-track riding, but functional in XC conditions as well. It uses the same alloy frame as the others though instead of RockShox this bike uses a Suntour XCR-LO front suspension. It has the same WTB rims as the others but uses Shimano hubs instead of Formula. Its shifters are Shiman Alivio, as is the front derailleur, and the rear derailleur is a Deore. The front and rear brakes are Shimano hydraulic disc rotors. This bike has a relatively low price point and weighs more than any other Jubei, about 3 pounds more than the Jubei 2.

It uses the same aluminum frame as the Faze SL model above it, but its components are largely different. Still, this bike features upper end Fox front and rear suspensions, and fits the same niche in intended use. The drivetrain is a mix of Shimano XT, XTR and SLX parts and the crankset is Shimano 552. The rear stays have a moulded carbon link, and the head angle is 69 degrees, suited for trail conditions. The brakes on this model are hydraulic disc (Avid Elixer R) instead of the SL's Shimano. This bike is recommended for experienced or competitive trail cyclists.

Norco's Bigfoot 2011 model is a mid-range mountain bike, the second from the top in the BC Trail lineup, and is intended specifically for use on shore trails or some all-mountain endurance riding. Main features include a unique aluminum frame with geometry suited to those purposes, Marzocchi Dirt Jumper 3 front suspension and Shimano hydraulic front and rear disc brakes. The components are entry-level from their respective lineups and this helps keep the price point low. These include an Alivio drivetrain with FSA cranks and many in-house Norco alloy parts (seatpost, stem, rims). This is a hardtail model and weighs in at 33 lbs.

Norco Judan Belt (2011)

Norco's Judan Belt 2011 is a unique model with mid-range pricing falling somewhere in the middle of the 29er lineup. Like most 29ers, this one fits the specific purpose of performance on trail and single track conditions. One key feature is that this bike uses a carbon belt instead of a chain, and as such has a drive sprocket and belt cog instead of conventional chainrings and cassette. This means no lubrication is required. The frame is made of Reynolds Chromoly, and front suspension is RockShox Recon Gold TK. There are hydraulic disc brakes on the front and rear. Note also that like most 29ers this bike is only a single speed, and has a fairly low gear ratio. This, once again, suits it more for trail and single track.

Features

Reynolds 525 Chromoly steel frame

RockShox Recon Gold TK 100mm front suspension

Gates Carbon Drive Sprocket and Carbon Drive Belt

Truvativ Stylo crankset

Avid Elixir 5 160mm disc brakes (front and rear)

It has the same aluminum triple-butted frame as the Phaser 1 above and Phaser 3 below it, the geometry is the same, and the main differences are in the component selection. In fact, the front and rear suspensions are identical to the Phaser 1 flagship model (RockShox SID front and Monarch rear). The main differences are that this model's drivetrain is mainly Shimano SLX (with an XT rear derailleur) instead of XT. The rims and hubs are manufactured by Sun though the tires are the same as the Phaser 1. The brakes are also different, being Avid Elixir 5 160mm hydraulic discs and levers. The Phaser 2 is slightly heavier than the Phaser 1, though the Phaser 3 is significantly heavier than the Phaser 2. The models price spread reflects these differences. See the manufacturer's pages for full specification details.

Favoring training and trekking over road racing applications, the Forma holds up during sport touring as well, and features a number of higher-end components than its other CRD counterparts. The Shimano 105 drivetrain ensures optimal component compatibility, intuitive shifting, and improved energy efficiency to minimize wasted exertion and bike-related fatigue. The Norco Lite handlebar and Norco sport saddle provide lasting comfort and power positioning for its many uses, all in a fairly light 20 pound bike that wont wear the rider down through difficult maneuvering and will accelerate with minimal resistance.

Sitting right underneath the notorious Empire SE, the Empire (2011) hosts a low standover slopestyle design that is optimal for performing BMX style jumps and street riding. Included is an ultra durable Empire 5 frame designed to withstand years of treacherous abuse and a Marzocchi fork that is shorter than a conventional bike to allow bikers to better smooth out rough take offs. The difference between the Empire and its superior sibling is that the Empire relies on a downgraded Marzochhi Rear Shock, versus its peer’s Roco TS Air Shock. It’s only a slight change, however, as the Empire’s suspension and shock system still allows users to maintain their balance and never get kicked forward. One thing that the Empire does maintain are Avid Juicer brakes, which provide the advanced stopping power needing to perform wall rides and quarter pipe variations.

It has a high price point and there are only two models below it in this specific category, the Phaser 2 and Phaser 3. Like the others it uses a triple-butted aluminum frame, though its components make this the lightest model, weighing just over 23 pounds. It has a full Shimano XT drivetrain (with XTR rear derailleur) and uses Avid hydraulic disc brakes on both the front and rear. The front suspension use RockShox, the front being a 100mm air-based suspension and the rear a Monarch RT, also air. The suspension uses Norco's A.R.T. design, which increases pedalling efficiency over older models. The light weight and air suspensions limit the Phaser line's use to XC with potential for single-track and some trail riding. The lower models offer basically identical design with downgraded components.

The CRD 2 model favors training over road racing, but is also excellent for trekking and sport touring, providing a comparatively affordable Norco that suits the more exploratory cyclist's needs. Featuring a double butted road frame and an aerodynamic alloy front fork, the bike in its entirety weighs slightly over 23 pounds, and provides a responsive, compliant, and rigid ride. The combination of Continental Ultra Sport tires and Mavic CXP22 28h rims offers grippy maneuvering in various conditions as well as long term durability over extended periods of daily usage.

It is geared for use mainly on trails and single tracks, and handles both very well. Its frame is a double butted alloy 29er and it uses RockShox Reba RL DA front suspension. Its shifters and front derailleur are Shimano SLX and the rear is an XT Shadow upgrade, and hydraulic Shimano Deore disc brakes. It is lighter by several pounds than the Jubei 2 and 3, is a hardtail, and has thirty speeds in total. Of course, it also uses 29-inch rims, which are WTB's SpeedDisc, common to all the non-carbon Jubeis.

Its price point is relatively low compared to many other Norco mountain bikes, mainly because this bike is intended for shore trails (which it handles very well) and recreational riding. Features include a unique shore-trail frame design made of aluminum and RockShox Sektor fork with a large amount of travel (140mm), Deore shifters and rear derailleur, and Shimano hydraulic disc brakes. It is fairly heavy, and using some Norco in-house parts keeps the cost lower. The Bigfoot, is the model below it, which features downgraded components and a Suntour instead of RockShox fork.

Like the others it has an M6 aluminum frame, though this model has an alloy rather than higher models' carbon rear suspension link. Both the front and rear suspensions us Fox coils, and the drivetrain uses only Shimano SLX components. Mavic rims with Norco and Formula (rear and front, respectively) hubs make up the wheels, with Kenda Nevegal tires. This bike is two pounds heavier than the Faze 1 above it, and 4.5 pounds lighter than the Faze 3 below it. This, and its downgraded components, make it slightly less well suited for XC racing, but it still fills the same single-track, trail and XC purpose.

Norco Torrent Carbon (2011)

Norco's Torrent Carbon 2011 is a high-end hardtail mountain bike and the second from the top in the XC Hardtail lineup. Its high price point comes largely due to a full carbon frame and high-end components. Its frame does not feature the more advanced stress-point fortification technology that the Torrent Team (the flagship) does, but the two bikes fulfill the same intended purpose. They perform very well in XC racing, trail, and single track conditions. This model has a Shimano SLX drivetrain with the exception of an XT Shadow rear derailleur, and uses Avid Elixir R hydraulic disc brakes on the front and back. It uses higher-end Easton rims and has a RockShox SID RLT front suspension. This model is very lightweight relative to most other Norco mountain bikes.

Building off the foundational success of the series from the design of the other 3 CRR installments the SL features a high modulus carbon frame with thermoplastic mesh, a tapered head tube, and a Sram BB30 bottom bracket to combine for an ultimately very light finished product that weighs just under 16 pounds for excellent low-bulk maneuverability and quick acceleration. The employed Sram Red groupo ensures proper calibration between components and excellently balanced power distribution. Upgraded from its predecessors, the SL features the light and durable Mavic Ksyrium wheelset and Continental Ultra Race Folding tires for improved multi-condition traction and long term daily training security.

Norco Team Carbon (2011)

Norco's Team Carbon 2011 model is the flagship model in the hardtail XC lineup, and it has a very high price point, almost twice that of the model below it (the Torrent Carbon). One reason for this is that the frame itself is made entirely of carbon, another is a unique design process that smoothens the internal sides of the tubes and greatly strengthens regions of the frame that typically come under high stress. All of the components on this bike are top-of-the-line, including a full Shimano XTR drivetrain and brake set, Easton rims compatible with tubeless tires, Easton hubs and Sapim DB spokes. The front suspension is RockShox' Sid WC XX with 100mm of travel. While it does not have a rear suspension, this bike is versatile and performs equally well during XC racing, trail riding, and single track riding. Its lightweight components and frame make this the lightest Norco mountain bike commercially available, weighing in at just 20 pounds.

Note that there are definitely cheaper and more basic mountain bikes available from Norco; the Shore 3 is the first of the downhill bikes, which feature large front suspensions and rear suspensions. This model has the most basic components, but uses the same Shore frame as the Shore 2 above it, including a forged link between the rear stays and forged bottom bracket yoke. It is intended as a starter or intermediate downhill ride. Main features include a Marzocchi front fork, SRAM X5 and FSA drivetrain components, and Funn hydraulic front and rear disc brake. The Shore 2, the next model, has significant component and suspension changes and a significantly higher price point.

It has a 6061 alloy frame, the same as the Jubei 1 and 3, and a RockShox Recon air front suspension. The rear is a hardtail. Like the other Jubeis this one performs best on trails and single-track courses, with some potential for XC. Shifters and front derailleur are Shimano Alivio, rear derailleur is SLX, and the crankset is FSA's Gamma Drive. The rims are the same as the Jubei 1 and 3 and they use Formula bearings. Shimano disc brakes are on the front and rear. This model is heavier than the models above it, but a few pounds lighter than the Jubei 3.

It has a high price point and is intended for experienced or competitive riders. Main features include a lightweight M6 aluminum triple-butted frame with a carbon rearstay link and a complete Shimano XTR hub, hydraulic brake and drivetrain group. Fox suspensions are at both ends of this model, and WTB Silverado team saddle. It also has a lightweight Ritchey stem and handlebars. The head angle is 69 degrees, not quite as steep as a Freeride bike but ideal for trail, cross-country and single track. The models below this the Faze 1, 2, and 3 feature similar geometry and have similar intended purposes with downgraded components. This is the lightest Faze model.

Its geometry produces a low standover height, and the headtube is shortened to accommodate the larger wheel. The suspension pivot layout is Norco's A.R.T. which improves pedalling efficiency over previous models, and the rear dropouts are Syntace for easier wheel access. Shifters and front derailleur are Shimano SLX, with an XT Shadow rear derailleur. Its stock fork is a RockShox Reba 29er with 140mm travel, and the rear is a Monarch 2.1 MM3 air shock. This model has a higher price point than most of Norco's other 29ers,

New for the 2011 model is the design of the dropouts, which are more compact than previous models. These dropouts contribute stiffness to the feel of the 125 (2011). The frame of this bike is a hundred percent chromoly, which provides lightweight durability. The 125 (2011) comes right smack dab in the middle of this line, having a double butted frame and Avid Juicy 3 brakes that the lower cost Ryde (2011) model does not have, but lacking the higher cost 250 (2011) model's hydroform downtube and chainstays, as well as its Rockshox Argyle fork, which will provide a more responsive performance than the 125 (2011) model's Marzocchi DJ3 fork.

It has the same aluminum triple-butted frame as the other models and uses the A.R.T. suspension joint that helps improve pedalling efficiency. its suspensions themselves are RockShox Recon TK in the front and Ario 2.1 in the rear, both steps down from the other models. The drivetrain is more basic, using Deore shifters and front derailleur with an SLX rear and FSA cranks. The disc brakes are Avid Elixir 3's, both front and rear, with the same levers. The hubs are Deore 525's and this models tires are Kenda Small Block 8's instead of the others' Rocket Rons. Like the other Phasers this model's range of use is limited to XC race or single-track, with some trail capabilities. It is, however, about 4.5 lbs heavier than the Phaser 2.

Accordingly the frame is smaller, and is a custom design based on the Shore adult frame. The front fork also travels less, with a max range of 120mm. Because, however, most of its components are similar or identical to the Shore 3 adult bike, it has the same price point and functions as an entry-level or intermediate downhill bike. its main features include a Marzocchi Dirt Jumper 3 fork, SRMA X5 and Shimano Alivio drivetrain components, and Shimano front and rear hydraulic disc brakes. Many of the components are junior-sized: pedals, handlebars, seat, and brake adjustments. The rear suspension uses a Marzocchi coil.

The lightest of the non-carbon framed members of the series, the fireball features the same custom hydroformed double butted 6061 alloy frame as the more affordable Nitro and Charger, but weighs in at a lighter 26.5 pounds. Ideal for XC racing, single track, and trail riding, the fireball boasts a RockShox Reba RL Dual Air form with Poploc technology allowing the option of reducing fork compression to suit terrain needs. The Shimano 30 speed SLX drivetrain and Shimano XT rear derailleur combination provides concise component communication and smoother shifting to maximize riding comfort and energy conservation.

The 2011 Norco Kokanee is the lowest end offering from Norco's XC Hardtails series of performance racing mountain bikes designed to offer relatively lightweight bikes that are durable enough to withstand long term riding through rough terrain. Taking a different approach to the intended riding of the other series members, the Kokanee sacrifices its XC racing potential for improved trail and city riding. The double butted frame is comprised of the same 6061 alloy as the mid-range members, but is coupled with a SR Suntour XCR-LO fork with lock-out capabilities to reduce the travel of the fork and increase the efficiency of riding over smooth terrains. A Shimano 27 speed drivetrain that features a Deore rear derailleur provides smooth transition between gears and easier, more proportionate energy expenditure.

Norco Empire SE (2011)

The Norco Empire SE (2011) is Norco’s flagship Dirt/Street series bicycle. Designed for performing BMX jumps and serious street riding, the Empire SE builds from the original Empire by incorporating thicker and stronger Maxxis Ardent tires for handling more difficult jumps on even tougher terrain, a more durable handlebar and tighter grip, and a superior Roco TS Air Shock suspension system that gives it the shock absorption required so bikers can perform tricks while barely feeling impact. Like its predecessor, the Empire SE relies on an extremely lightweight but rigid and responsive Empire 5 frame designed to be easy to control. As such, users can more easily shred trails, dig into berms, and perform higher speed berms. The key to the Empire SE, however, is its low standover slopestyle design, which provides BMX dirt riders with the versatility to jump more effectively, while at the same time staying in complete control.

It is a 29er frame and performs best on single track and trail conditions, but is also well suited to XC racing. Its main feature is its full-carbon frame, which reduces its weight. The components are also all from the mid-upper region of their respective lineups, including a full Shimano SLX drivetrain with upgraded XT Shadow rear derailleur. This is a hardtail, and the front suspension is RockShox Reba. Easton rims and hubs form the basis of the wheels. This bike has 30 speeds in total and is the lightest of the 29ers Norco offers, and also has the highest price point.

This model comes in the upper middle of the line, having a few key features up on the lower cost 125 (2011) model. One of these features is a Rockshox Argyle fork, which provides a feel that is more smooth than the 125 (2011) model's Marzocchi DJ3 fork. Another feature that the 250 (2011) has over the 125 (2011) model is its hydroform downtube and chainstays, which contribute strength without adding weight (this bike weighs 27.3 pounds in total). Thanks to its lateral stability, the hydroform tubing also helps to make your ride more efficient, with less energy wasted. This model is a step down from the higher cost Empire SE (2011) model in that the Empire SE (2011) has a Marzocchi TST fork and rear shock, as well as a lightweight FSA stem, handlebar and crank (as opposed to the 250 (2011) model's Norco-made stem, handlebar and crank).

Norco Range 2 (2011)

The Norco Range 2 (2011) is an upper mid-cost thirty speed mountain bike. This model is a step up from the lower cost Range 3 (2011) model in that it has the A.R.T. (Advanced Ride Technology) suspension system, which is new for 2011. The A.R.T. suspension allows for a twenty percent increase in chain growth over traditional suspension systems. This means that pedaling is made more efficient, which allows you to take on a variety of terrain. Another way in which the Range 2 (2011) is a step up from the Range 3 (2011) model is its Syntace X-12 142mm rear dropout axle system, which provides improved axial/radial clamping, as well as easy adjustment. This model lacks the Range 1 (2011) model's Fox fork and rear shock (having a Rockshox fork and rear shock instead), Shimano XT drivetrain components (having SRAM components instead), and Race Face carbon handlebar (having an in-house aluminum handlebar instead).

Norco Range 1 (2011)

The Norco Range 1 (2011) is a high-end mountain bike. This bike is a step up from the lower cost Range 2 (2011) model in a couple of key ways. First, it is equipped with a Fox fork and rear shock, which will offer a smoother ride with more vibration absorption than the Range 2 (2011) model's Rockshox fork and rear shock. Another difference is the Range 1 (2011) model's Shimano XT drivetrain components, which are designed to provide easy shifting (as opposed to the Range 2 (2011) model's SRAM X7 components). A third difference is the Range 1 (2011) model's Race Face carbon handlebar, which will provide more durability than the Range 2 (2011) model's in-house aluminum handlebar. This model lacks the flagship Range SE (2011) model's Crank Bros wheels, SRAM XO drivetrain components, and SRAM XX brakes.

Norco Range SE (2011)

The thirty speed Norco Range SE (2011) is a flagship mountain bike offering. A few key features set this premium model apart from the next-in-line Range 1 (2011) model. One of these features is the SRAM XO drivetrain components, which offer a more consistent, smooth performance than the Range 1 (2011) model's Shimano XT components. Another key difference is the Crank Bros. Iodine wheelset of this model, which is designed to be lightweight. These wheels contribute to a sturdy ride. A third difference between the Range SE (2011) and the Range 1 (2011) is the fact that the Range SE (2011) has SRAM XX brakes as opposed to Avid Elixir brakes, which are stiffer and of a stronger grade. Features shared between the two models include a double butted frame, which makes for a durable design.

The Phena's front and rear drivetrain components feature two separate gear types for individualized traction adjustment on varying landscapes, incorporating 3 and 10-speed Shimano SLX units respectively. Shimano has also contributed a set of 160mm brakes from its M-445 series, with additional components including Norco's own adjustable rising handlebars and lock-on grips for full-confidence steering. This model is a step up from the lower cost Fluid 2 (2010) model in a number of ways. First, the Fluid 1 (2010) is equipped with a Fox FRL OB 150mm/15 mm fork, which offers better damping than the Fluid 2 (2010) model's Rockshox fork. The rear shock of the Fluid 1 (2010) model is also from Fox, which will outperform the Fluid 2 (2010) model's Rockshox rear shock. Another difference is the Fluid 1 (2010) model's Shimano XT drive train components, which are slightly lighter in weight than the Fluid 2 (2010) model's Shimano SLX drive train components (the Fluid 1 weighs 28.7 pounds, while the Fluid 2 weighs 29.4 pounds). Features shared throughout the Fluid line include a lightweight hydroform downtube frame.

This model comes in the middle of the Fluid line of mountain bikes, having more speeds (ten as opposed to nine), a lighter weight (29.4 pounds as opposed to 33.4 pounds), and a higher quality Rockshox air style fork than the lower cost Fluid 3 (2010) model. This model lacks the Fox fork and rear shock, as well as the lighter weight Shimano XT drivetrain, of the flagship Fluid 1 (2010) model. Features shared by all three Fluid models include a hydroform downtube frame, which helps to keep the overall weight of the bike down. Another shared feature is a link arm design revised for 2010 to allow for improved fit with Rockshox and Fox rear shocks.
Norco A Line (2010)

The Norco A Line (2010) is a high-end mountain bike available in three sizes. Norco promotes this bike as having the same geometry as the flagship Team DH (2010) model, but with thicker main frame tubing to facilitate bike park and freeriding use (the Team DH (2010) is primarily a racing bike). Another difference between the two models is the Team DH (2010) model's hydroform tubing, which contributes to a lighter weight. This model also lacks the Team DH (2010) model's thru-axle design. The Aline Park/DH 203/228 mm travel frame of the A Line (2010) is anodized, which contributes lightweight durability to this bike's design. This bike has a low standover (797, 804 or 807 millimeters, depending on the size), low bottom bracket height (358 millimeters) and low shock weight, all of which combine to create a low center of gravity. This means better bike control, as well as better balance.

The Norco Team DH (2010) is a high-end mountain bike, a flagship offering. This model is a step up from the lower cost DH (2010) model in a few ways. First, it has hydroform tubing in the frame, a design that helps to keep the weight of this racing bike down (this bike weighs just 38.4 pounds, as opposed to the DH's 39.1 pound weight). This frame is anodized, which makes for lightweight durability. Another difference between the two models is that the Team DH (2010) is equipped with a thru-axle design (150 x 12 Maxle), which contributes to a stiffer feel, and therefore more control. Specs shared between the Team DH (2010) and DH (2010) models include a low center of gravity, which helps with control and balance.

This bike is equipped with a 1.5" headset, made to fit with a 1-1/8" fork steer tube. This design helps to reduce stack height. Though they have the exact same geometry and hydroform downtube frame, this model differs from the higher cost Fluid 2 (2010) model in a number of ways. One key difference is the fact that the Fluid 3 (2010) is a nine speed bike, while the Fluid 2 (2010) has ten speeds. Another difference is that the Fluid 2 (2010) has an air style fork, which is more adjustable than the Fluid 3 (2010) model's Shox Tora U-Turn 85-130mm coil style fork. The Fluid 3 (2010) also weighs four pounds more than the Fluid 2 (2010) (weighing 33.4 pounds as opposed to 29.4 pounds).
