The Marantz AV8003 is a preamp/processor separate designed to be coupled with the Marantz MM8003 ($2399.99) 8-channel power amplifier. The AV8003 is THX Ultra2 certified and supports the latest v1.3a HDMI standard along with high resolution audio format decoding (Dolby TrueHD, dts HD-MA). It features a set of both balanced and unbalanced 7.1 channel audio pre-outs to be sent to the connected power amplifier separate. It supports 3-zone A/V signal distribution with HDMI in the first zone, component video in the second, and audio-only to the third zone. It has a suggested retail price of $2599.99 and has a release date of July 2008.
