The Marantz BD8002 is a high-end Blu-Ray player that is Profile 1.1 compliant and features advanced image and audio processing. It is HDMI 1.3 compliant and features 36-bit Deep Color support for richer images. The player features a 10-bit Silicon Optix Realta HQV Video Processor, and is capable of upscaling DVDs to 1080p resolution. The HDMI interface allows Digital Bitstream for high-resolution audion, including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD for 7.1 audio output, and has built-in Dolby Digital and DTS decoders. The BD8002 also has an SD card slot for viewing photos. The player has component and composite video out (including both RCA and BNC), and analog, digital coaxial and digital optical audio out. Note: this player is functionally identical to the Denon 3800, with the only differences being the Marantz's longer 3-year warranty, and different implementations of CD audio processing.
