The Marantz SR7002 ($1500) is a THX Select II 7.1 a/v receiver with 110 Watts per channel of power with four HDMI 1.3a and 2 outputs. It is one of four new receivers released in October 2007 as part of Marantz's 2007 lineup of SRx002 receivers. The SR7002 supercedes the SR7001. The SR7002 does upconversion to 1080p on HDMI of its analog inputs (RCA, S-Video, Component) and is able to decode high-definition audio formats over HDMI including DTS-HD MA and Dolby TrueHD.

Availability and Pricing
The new lineup of receivers was announced at CEDIA 2007 in September 2007 and the Marantz SR7002 started retailing in stores in October 2007 for around $1500. The Marantz SR8002 ($2100) is the flagship model of the line, and upgrades to HD Radio, 3 zones of audio, a copper chassis, and a toroidal transformer delivering 125 Watts per channel.
