Details

Masahiro's commitment to design, especially in the realm of ceramics and porcelain is well known. As a young designer in the 50s, he was instrumental in bringing industrial design to Japan. Post-war Japan required a major shift in perception and focus, and Masahiro was a key player in transforming "Made in Japan" as a cheap alternative to "Made in Japan" as a quality choice. His keen eye for choosing designs that are both traditional and modern has garnered him a place in history as a visionary.

As much as I liked these when I first saw them at a friends house they were nearly unusable. First off cups with no handle are really hard to handle (no pun intended) with very hot liquid in them. Add to that the fact that these put even more hot surface area onto your fingers and they are torture.

Funny, I never really considered the 'hotness' factor. Maybe they're juice-only.
