The Maxtor DiamondMax 21 is a PC hard disk drive that comes in capacities of 80 to 500 Gb. It targets entry-level PCs, Non-traditional ATA storge applications, and external storage. It has a 7200 RPM speed, which is typical for PC hard drives. Its operating shock comes at 63g, and non operating shock is 350g. This is quite little compared to the Seagate Momentus hard disk drive portfolio, however is excpected as the Momentus is designed for laptops which are more prone for shock than a PC hard drive. Unfortunately, the official page of this product lists no information about the acoustics of this piece, but external review indicate that it is pretty quiet. Critics also note that this piece can heat up a lot especially when a lot of data is transferred, and advised for proper ventilation and cooling for it. With the Serial ATA interface, this piece can transfer up to 3.0 Gb/s.
