The Maxtor DiamondMax 22 is a non-portable hard disk drive that comes in 160-1000 GB capacities. This piece does very well at large file transfer tests, with an overall speed of just under 80MB/s. Its performance was less impressive when transferring small files though, writing them at just 8.1 MB/s and reading them at a low 16.4 MB/s. Critics say that the price is fair considering the 11p per gigabyte but doesn't make up for the unremarkable small file performance.
