The Maxtor DiamondMax 23 is a non-portable hard drive released in 2001. It comes in 160 GB to 1000 GB capacity range. It is intended for popular entry and mainstream desktop PCs. It has a 3.0 Gb/s Serial ATA interface enabling the use of features such as Native Command Queuing. Maxtor claims that 70 percent or more of the materials used to build the drive is recycled. It can transfer up to 3Gb/s. This piece is designed for Home Desktop PCs, Office and Business PCs, and general non-pc sata storage applications. The sounds it produces are pretty loud: 2.5 bels at idle time and 2.7 bels at seek time.
