The Media Gate MG-450HD is a high performance DMA (Digital Media Adapter) or media streaming device when combined with an internal 3.5" hard drive. The MG-35450HD is a high end HD (High-Definition) device adorned with plenty of extra features and accessories. It provides support for an optional internal SATA hard drive for storing a plethora of digital entertainment. It connects directly to a Television and allows wireless streaming of DVD movies, music and photos from a locally networked PC or off the internal hard drive. Streamed videos are available in full HD 1080p at a resolution of 1920 x 1080. Supported file formats include: Movie: AVI: MS-MPEG4v3/XviD/WMV9 (XviD with GMC option applied not supported) WMV: WMV9, ASF: WMV9, MP4: MPEG4 Video, DAT: MPEG1, VOB: MPEG2, MPG/MPEG: MPEG1/MPEG2, TP/TS/TRP: HD-MPEG2/SD-MPEG2 ; Music: MP3, OGG, WAV, WMA ; and Photo: JPG/JPEG, BMP, GIF. Rear panel inputs and outputs include: HDMI, Component, S-Video and Composite with full 480p, 720p, and 1080i Progressive Scan format support as well as Stereo, Digital Coaxial and Optical 5.1 ch. Sound for audio. The device also includes a wireless antenna for 802.11g/b wireless streaming support as well as additional streaming modes including FTP Server & Client and uPnP. Wireless security WPA and WEP certification means shared media files remain protected, wireless infrastructure and ad-hoc modes are also available. Additional features include a 10/100 LAN port for network connections and a USB 2.0 interface to connect directly to a PC, external storage devices can also be connected and accessed via the USB port. The Media Gate MG-450HD was released in February, 2008 and has an MSRP of $379.99.
