Just as the namesake suggests, the memo pen is designed for those short notes you write to remind yourself of simple things like 'pick up milk', 'call the babysitter', etc. The pen is a straightforward ink pen, however the genius comes not from the pen itself, but from the lid. The lid contains 2 feet of writing paper that you can rip off or retract back into the cap and pull out again later. This is a nice change from the super tech PDA and iPhone options that are sure to hit your wallet more than the tried-and-true paper and pen method.

The pen itself is made from brass and chrome parts with a plastic finish. The paper scrolls can be replaced.

This thing is pretty sweet. But would be better would be a white-board kind of material that you can erase and reuse over and over instead of having to tear up pieces of paper. I'm starting to use my cell phone for reminders (note to self: make a note)

I dunno, I like the idea, and totally agree to the whiteboard idea, but at $20 is this really that much cheaper than a pda? You can buy low end PDAs or basic organizers from RadioShack for $20.
