Xbox media center mod

I have heard rumors that if or when you mod your xbox you will be banned from xbox live. If you do the media center mod will it ban you from live thanks.

You can do the mod without being banned, although there are some precautions you have to take. This thread covered the same question, and it was answered in this post.
