Help with setting up XBMC

Ok, reinstalling Run Linix got rid of my script error, but trying the other bios made no difference to the results.

You said, "try the other bios loader." The two choices I've tried are for the bios itself. The Bios Loader gives me several other choices besides PBL/Meeto. Do you want me to try one of the others?

First, can you do something for me?

Get into MXM from the Run Linux game save. This allows you to FTP into your Xbox. FTP into your Xbox using FlashFXP, and send me a screenshots of the root of the C drive (/C/) and E drive (/E/).

Can I run downloaded XBox games that I burned with my DVD burner with this mod?

Is there any other way of connecting this to the network as I have a netgear router and so can't flash the firmware to bridge it.

I also can not afford the xbox adapter

Sorry, for the confusion folks, but I have revised the guide to only refer to the UXE Exploit contained in the ltools_MA_v1.8.rc1.zip file. This will work for all Xbox versions and regions. The only difference is that you will have to install MXM as the default dashboard instead of EvoX. The XBMC copy process is the same, as well as everything else.

Ok, sorry for the delay. I had to run out and pick someone up.

I got nowhere with the previous version of ltools. The new 1.8rc1 version installed without problems.

But...(you knew there was a but) Now the xbox is stuck with a manual ip address in the wrong subnet.

I was looking at this on the old version and found that every time I changed the IP configuration from manual to automatic, running Run Linix would set it back to manual with an IP of 192.168.0.3. Now that I've got the new dashboard installed, I'm still have 192.168.0.3 as an IP with no obvious way to change it. When I invoke the MS dashboard it comes up, but, when I go to network setup, it boots back to the Ltools dashboard without allowing me to change anything.

Help!

Is there a way to change the default static IP address from 192.168.0.3 to something different? My router is on the same subdomain, but for some reason I am unable to ping on the 192.168.0.x - I would rather use 192.168.1.3. Thanks!

I am having a problem where my XBox does not give me the option to copy the saved game from the action replay memory card to the hard drive. What do I need to do to fix this?

Make sure, as depicted in the second screenshot in step 5.3, that you select the smaller of the two circles, then press "A" on the controller. Use the direction pad right to move the cursor over to the smaller Mech Assault icon.
