"Would there be any other reason that the linux wont run on my x08.....64 game disc?" Make sure you delete all previous Mech Assault gamesaves off of your Xbox hard drive before starting. Also, confirm that the disc has that part no. A couple of years ago, I bought a Mech Assault with the proper case and a mismatched disc. It's standard practice someplaces when you buy used games.

I think I fixed it! The problem seems to be that I was going too many folder levels deep to find the large files. If I just share the folder I want to get at directly, it works! Thank you again so much, Erik. Think I'll be sticking around ProductWiki :)

Is your network setup correctly? Are you using a router? Does MXM load when you turn your Xbox on? MXM defaults to IP address of 192.168.0.3 on subnet 255.255.255.0. Make sure your network is solid. Thanks Erik. You rock. I'm able to log on to XBOX live through the router I'm using and have never had a problem with my network before. What do you mean by solid? I see Evox with the blue screen and my IP address when I turn on my XBox with no disc in it. The IP address is 192.168.0.3, but whenever I try to connect it times out. Same thing with a ping. I feel like I'm so close, yet so far!

I see Evox with the blue screen and my IP address I think your Xbox isn't setup with an IP address that is accessible by your network. Determine your computer's IP address. There are several ways to do this. (I'm assuming you are using Windows) Easiest is to go to "Start" -> "Run..." type "cmd" which will take you to the command prompt. Type "ipconfig". You will see your IP address, Subnet, and Gateway. You have to change your network settings from within EvoX. To make this change goto "System Utils" -> "Settings" in EvoX. If your computer's IP Address is something like 192.168.100.2 with a subnet of 255.255.255.0 and a gateway of 192.168.100.1 then you should change your Xbox's IP address to something like 192.168.100.3 with a gateway of 192.168.100.1. Basically the first 3 octets should be the same on both your computer and Xbox (ex: 192.168.100). If you can't figure it all out, put your network settings on this thread and I can tell you how to change EvoX accordingly.

How easy is it to add a new hard drive? Also, is it possible to use a USB external hard drive? As far as I can tell you need an actual modchip to replace the hard drive...is that correct? Thank you for the great guide :)

This might be a silly question but I've heard you can't do this soft mod with brand new (version 1.6) boxes. Can this mod work on the newest versions of the xbox?

Can this mod work on the newest versions of the xbox? The UXE exploit works on all Xbox versions and regions.

Everything goes well except after I FTP the XBMC files (XBMC-CVS_2006-02-12-T3CH.rar) to the e:\Dashboard directory, nothing changes when I boot back up... It's the same screen as before with the: Run Mini-linux UXE Menu, etc.... Should I be going to dashboards? If I go to that option I can choose "XDK Launcher", but that doesn't do anything. Shouldn't it be the xbox media center dashboard right when i turn it on? What should I do to get XBMC working? Thanks! Josh
