New pro/con: These units have a long battery life of a year or more. They can also be powered by optional AC adapter.

New pro/con: The range you get on these won't likely be 1000 feet unless you are in a field with no obstructions. Actual range may be closer to 300 feet indoors.

New pro/con: The 1000 foot range is only achievable with no obstructions between units. Real range is more likely to be in the range of 300 feet.
