The Mitsubishi HC3800 is a 1080p, DLP home-theater projector released by Mitsubishi in 2009 as a director competitor to the Optoma HD20. The HC3800 is more expensive, but makes up for this with superior image sharpness, color saturation, contrast, and three-dimensionality. Plus, it features a high-performance Diamond lens with a 1.5x zoom range; anamorphic lens modes; and a 5000-hour lamp life. Its most highlighted feature is a new digital micromirror device (DMD), that works with a .65 Digital Light Processing (DLP) chip to reproduce finely-detailed images with greatly reduced light fusion—the result being high-definition 1080p images. In fact, the unit even includes a Blu-ray 24P direct output for delivering smooth movement and supposedly 2x the speed of conventional cinema films.
